Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ classic graphic novel Watchmen has come to iTunes in as an animated, narrated, “motion comic.” Episode 1 is available now as a free download and it’s a very faithful reproduction of the first book of the 12-book series. The animation is minimal, preserving the look and feel of the comic [...]

Set your Tivos: The second season of Cartoon Network’s wild and wonderful superhero saga Frisky Dingo begins tonight (or more precisely, tomorrow morning) at midnight. [The season 2 premiere is also posted on the Adult Swim website.] The New York Times ran a great review when the series premiered. In a nutshell:

Jason at Webomatica recently held a “So Bad They’re Good” movie contest, asking readers to submit their favorite “bad” movies for him to review. I’ve been fascinated with bad cinema since I was a kid. The Golden Turkey Awards was a very influential book during my formative years (how disappointing that Michael Medved has turned [...]

I woke up this morning determined to find a reason to write about Yojimbo.

Set your Tivos. The Discovery Channel, a U.S. cable television network, has scheduled a program titled “The Inside Story Of The iPod” to air on Wednesday, December 27th at 12:00 noon (et/pt).
A new television commercial for the Nike+iPod Sport Kit has started airing in the U.S. The 30-second spot features the song “Here It Goes Again” by the band OK Go.
It’s great to see some more mainstream advertising for the Sport Kit, especially at a time of year when so many people will be getting brand [...]

Only a few days after the announcement that Tivo’s TivoToGo DRM had been cracked, to the good people over at Thebeneschs.com have posted their TivoDecode Manager, a simple Mac OS X interface which lets users connect to their Tivos wirelessly and download recordings to their computer. While the official TivoToGo software has made this functionality [...]

A couple of times a week, I like to browse through YouTube and download a handful of the latest “must see” clips onto my iPod to share with my wife (who just doesn’t have the patience to wade through all the skateboard tricks, playground fights, and “teen” diaries). It used to be a bit of [...]

Jon Feltheimer, Chief Financial Officer of Lionsgate Films has confirmed that the company has reached a deal with Apple to distribute full-length feature films via iTunes, most likely by the end of the year.
Ok, so this may not count as a breakthrough discovery, it’s actually more of a revelation: Apple’s fifth-generation iPod with video works really well as a video player when connected to a television… and there’s a cheap, simple way to hook it up.
