Kenpo iPod Jackets On Sale From $89.99

A last-minute gift idea for the iPod lover in your life who has (almost) everything: JCPenny.com is currently having a sale on several styles of men’s Kenpo iPod Jackets starting at $89.99. There is also one women’s Kenpo iPod Jacket on sale for $99.99. The Kenpo jackets all feature a built-in iPod dock connector and an ElekTex fabric iPod control pad on the sleeve. A pocket inside the jacket contains the dock connector and holds the iPod. There are supposedly no noticeable wires running down the sleeve, and no batteries are required. The dock connector is removable for safe washing.
I would almost say that these look like a good option for Nike+iPod runners who are braving cold, wet weather… except that the fabric control pad only has buttons for Play/Pause, Forward, Back, Volume+, and Volume-. It doesn’t appear to have a button that controls the iPod’s center button, which is used by the Nike+iPod runners to track progress and call up a PowerSong. If you never use those features when you run, or don’t use the Nike+iPod kit at all, these look like pretty nice jackets.
The Kenpo iPod Jackets are compatible with all iPods that have a standard dock connector, including the iPod mini, and both generations of the iPod nano.
On a related note: Eleksen, maker of the Elektex fabric controls, was recently chosen by the Consumer Electronics Association as an international “CES Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards” honoree, and their products will be featured at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January.
